Resumen

Nuestra investigación abordó las experiencias de conducta sexual compulsiva (CSC), entre hombres y mujeres puertorriqueñas y cómo se manifestaron de manera subsecuente a la experimentación traumática de abuso sexual infantil (ASI). El diseño del estudio fue cualitativo con un enfoque fenomenológico y analizamos las narrativas mediante el modelo de Wolcott (1994). Las personas participantes fueron nueve informantes (dos hombres y siete mujeres) que, desde su autopercepción, manifestaron CSC en algún momento de sus vidas. Realizamos entrevistas semiestructuradas y de las narrativas emergieron cinco categorías que le otorgaron estructura cualitativa a los hallazgos. Las categorías emergentes fueron: inicio sexual no normativo, calmar mis demonios, conducta sexual compulsiva, espejo roto y vida oscura. Estas describen detalladamente como las personas participantes experimentaron CSC, su intersección con vivencias de ASI y el significado que le otorgaron a las mismas. Discutimos cómo estas dimensiones se vinculan con el trastorno de estrés postraumático (TEPT) y con otras propuestas nosológicas relacionadas a la hipersexualidad, además de abordar la manera en que la tecnología contribuye al sostenimiento de estas conductas.
