Résumé

This article presents the results of an alumni study conducted at the Univeristy of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez. The objectives of the study were to identify the employment and study opportunities of the psychology alumni and to know their opinions in relation to several components of the psychology program. The sample consisted of 134 participants who finished their degree in psychology between 1982 to 1990. Based on their personal experiences with the psychology program, the alumniexpressed more insatisfaction in the following areas: opportuinities for collaboration in research, opportunities for learning through practice, and the quality of the textbooks used, and opportunities for participating in student organizations. the professional development of the participants is described and implications for the psychology curriculum are discussed.
