Abstract
Many of the instruments for the evaluation of suicidal behavior are for adolescents and are based on psychometric scales. During childhood, this evaluation becomes more complex due to the processes of personality formation. The objective of the study was to have the content of the Children's Sentence Completion Technique on Suicidal Behavior (CFI-CS, for its acronym in Spanish) validated by experts. The study was mixed, cross-sectional, descriptive, and through consultation with 39 experts in psychological evaluation and suicidal behavior in children. The selection of participants was chain-based and through the calculation of the K coefficient. To collect information, an ad hoc questionnaire was applied. The data were processed in Atlas.ti 9 and SPSS version 25. The experts showed a level of agreement with Kendall's W coefficient of 61.1%. They recognized the need for the technique and offered ratings of "Very adequate" for its relevance, applicability, and content validity. They recommended modifying the semantic structure of the suicidal behavior sentences and the guidelines for interpretation. In conclusion, they agree that the CFI-CS has adequate content validity. The CFI-CS could be necessary and applicable in clinical and educational services dedicated to the care of children with suicidal behavior.
