Abstract

The theories developed by cognitive psychology provide usd with a framework for educational practice. These theories, however, do not provide answers to many questions about the development of curriculum and teaching. To answer these questions, we must develop new forms of research that take educational practice as point of departure.

This article arques that researchers must work together with teachers in studying the development of concepts through classroom teaching. What type of teaching strategies are best for developing students' concepts? What learning experience should be provided? These are some of the questions that clasroom research can deal with.

Clasroom research, on the other hand, makes teachers reflect about the way they are teaching, which usually improves their teaching.
