The Puerto Rican Journal of Psychology invites you to submit articles for the special issue "Trauma, Recovery, and Mental Health: Pathways and Strategies for Holistic Wellbeing" which will be published in 2025.

This special issue call aims to publish articles that focus on:

(a) documenting the psychosocial impact of diverse traumatic experiences (e.g., maltreatment, sexual abuse, human trafficking, cyberbullying, intrafamily [intimate partner violence] or community violence, natural disasters, traumatic medical procedures, historical trauma, and others); 

(b) evaluating psychosocial treatment intervention or prevention focused on trauma;

(c) developing and validating instruments that identify a history of trauma and/or related symptoms;

(d) evaluating secondary trauma (secondary traumatic stress) in professionals; and

(e) identifying needs and challenges for the implementation of public policy that promotes trauma-informed practices. We are interested in publishing articles that include diverse populations including age, sex, gender, race, and functionality.

We accept manuscripts in Spanish and English.

Notification of acceptance of the abstract will be sent on or before October 29, 2024.

Submit complete manuscript of accepted abstract on or before January 30, 2025.

Manuscripts without a previously accepted abstract will not be accepted.
