Inventario Inteligencia Emocional EQ-i:YV: Evidencias de validez y confiabilidad/precisión en personas mexicanas entre las edades de siete a 18 años
Resumen
El estudio de la inteligencia emocional se ha centrado en la comprensión teórica, desarrollo y evaluación. No obstante, existen pocos instrumentos que evalúen este constructo en personas menores. El objetivo del presente estudio consistió en obtener evidencias de validez referidas a la estructura interna y de confiabilidad/precisión del Inventario de Inteligencia Emocional (EQ-i:YV) en personas mexicanas. La muestra fue de 537 personas mexicanas, con edades entre los siete y 18 años de edad, femeninos y masculinos. Se realizó un análisis factorial exploratorio de máxima verosimilitud (ML) con rotación Promax. Se obtuvieron evidencias consistentes con la estructura factorial de cinco factores, pese a la eliminación de ítems, reportada por BarOn y Parker (2000), la congruencia de los ítems agrupados permitió conservar la denominación de los factores. Se obtuvo una varianza total de 50.99% y los coeficientes de confiabilidad de Omega de McDonald y Alfa de Cronbach reportaron valores adecuados (.70 - .90). Se recomienda su uso en población mexicana por poseer fuentes de evidencia de validez y confiablidad. El análisis de la varianza que explica cada factor permite inferir la evaluación de la inteligencia emocional como un rasgo de personalidad, hallazgo importante para el uso e interpretación del instrumento.
