Resiliencia en la relación de pareja: La experiencia poshuracán María
Resumen
El estudio de la resiliencia en la pareja es un tema emergente en el campo de la psicología. Considerando las vivencias experimentadas luego del paso del Huracán María por Puerto Rico, se realizo el presente estudio desde una perspectiva fenomenológica. El mismo tuvo el propósito de indagar sobre los significados atribuidos a sus vivencias e identificar las cualidades de la resiliencia relacional. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a seis personas, luego del evento climatológico. Las respuestas fueron analizadas mediante el método de análisis fenomenológico interpretativo (Smith, Flowers & Larkin, 2009), generándose cuatro temas emergentes: (1) el significado de la experiencia, (2) la relación de pareja, (3) los sentimientos y emociones y (4) el futuro. Los resultados del estudio apuntan a la importancia de la resiliencia como factor protector en las relaciones de pareja en el proceso de afrontar situaciones difíciles o estresantes. Se identificó también una cultura de pareja en la que predomina un sentido de “nosotros” (we-ness) como resultado de la experiencia vivida, la que fue descrita como transformadora y de crecimiento.
